Privacy Policy

AI Startup Tycoon ("the game", "we") is a single-player game for iPhone. This policy explains how we handle game data, optional online referral features, and information processed by our service providers. Your company progress and settings are saved on your device. The optional referral program, when available, uses limited records stored online to manage codes and rewards and prevent repeat redemptions.
- Ordinary single-player gameplay does not require signing up for an account.
- Your company progress and settings are stored on your iPhone. Referral identifiers, redemptions and reward claims are stored separately online when you use referrals.
- Payments are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details.
- Ads are shown by Google AdMob, only when you choose to watch one.
- Cloudflare hosts our website and referral service. Referrals are optional and are not enabled yet.
Data stored on your device
Your company, progress and settings are saved in the game's storage on your iPhone. A record of your in-app purchases is kept there too, so your unlocks carry over to new companies. The referral service does not upload your company save or settings. Deleting the game removes its local save data, but does not automatically delete separately stored online referral records.
Optional referral program
The referral program is not enabled yet. When it becomes available, you can choose to share your code or redeem another player's code for in-game rewards. Using referrals requires an internet connection. The following describes the referral service prepared for this feature.
When you use referrals, we store:
- a player identifier, a device identifier and the association between them, so we can recognize the player and device using the service;
- a cryptographic hash of a recovery credential, an app-verification public key and verification counters, used to recognize a returning player and reject forged or repeated requests;
- your referral code and when your referral record was created;
- successful redemptions, including the code owner's identifier, the redeeming player's and device's identifiers, and the time of redemption;
- reward records and claim times, used to show referral totals, deliver rewards and avoid awarding the same reward twice.
These identifiers distinguish players and devices; they are not your name or email address. They can still relate to you or your device. The referral service does not request your address book or the contact details of people you invite. You choose whom to share your code with.
We use these records to provide one code per player, count successful referrals, award rewards to both players, reject self-referrals and enforce one redemption per device. The code owner can see their successful referral count and their own reward records, but the service does not provide them with your name, email address or contacts.
The prepared service uses Apple's App Attest and DeviceCheck services to check requests from the app and help prevent a phone from redeeming again after a reinstall. Apple processes verification information and maintains a device-level redemption flag. Our service processes verification tokens and stores public keys and counters; it does not use your advertising identifier for referrals. A recovery credential is intended to be stored securely in the iPhone's Keychain, with only its cryptographic hash stored by our service. If that credential is lost, we may be unable to restore the previous referral identity. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
Referral records are hosted by Cloudflare on our behalf. We do not sell referral records or use them for targeted advertising. Records are kept to maintain codes, referral counts and reward claims and to prevent repeat redemptions. They do not currently expire automatically, and uninstalling the game does not remove them or reset a device's redemption record.
Hosting and network information
Cloudflare hosts our website and referral service and processes network information, such as IP addresses and request information, to deliver and secure them. This is separate from the referral records listed above. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for information about its handling of data.
In-app purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple tells the game which items you own so it can unlock them; we don't receive your name, Apple ID, or payment information. Apple's own privacy policy applies to purchases.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game can show rewarded video ads, which you choose to watch for in-game rewards. These ads are served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect information such as:
- device and app information (device model, operating system, app version);
- your IP address and an approximate location derived from it;
- ad interactions (for example, that an ad was shown or tapped);
- your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), but only if you allow tracking when iOS asks. If you don't, ads are less personalized and the game plays exactly the same.
If you are in a region that requires consent (such as the EEA or the UK), Google's consent form lets you choose how your data is used for ads. Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Crash reports and beta feedback
If you have turned on sharing with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may share anonymous crash reports and usage statistics with us. If you are testing a beta through TestFlight, any feedback or screenshots you choose to send reach us through Apple, together with the details Apple includes with them.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- Turn off ad tracking at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- You never have to watch an ad; ads are always optional.
- Choose not to use the optional referral program.
- Delete the game to remove its local save data. Online referral records are retained separately as explained above.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it on this page and change the date above.
